LOCTITE Thread Braking Adhesive
This LOCTITE glue is designed for the braking and sealing of threaded fasteners, which require normal disassembly with standard hand tools. LOCTITE® 2400 is a medium thread brake formulated to seal and brake bolts, nuts and studs to prevent loosening due to vibration. This product cures when confined in the absence of air between narrow-mounted metal surfaces and prevents loosening and leakage caused by shock and vibration. It is particularly suitable for applications on less active substrates such as stainless steel and plated surfaces, where disassembly using hand tools is necessary for maintenance.
The thixotropic nature of LOCTITE 2400 reduces the migration of liquid product after application to the substrate. LOCTITE 2400 does not contain danger symbols, risk or safety phrases and does not contain any reportable carcinogens, mutagens or reproductive toxins. This adhesive has been reformulated and now offers fast curing speed and high strength for lamellar zinc anti-corrosion coatings such as Geomet™ 500A, as well as passive materials such as stainless steel or bichromate zinc plated steel.
