Shell AeroShell Oil 100

Mineral aviation engine oil for piston engine break-in and continuous use in specified engines

  • Straight mineral oil without dispersant additives

  • Ideal for use during break-in of new or recently overhauled four-stroke aircraft engines

  • Compatible with engines requiring SAE J1966 / MIL-L-6082 specification oils

  • Provides effective protection against corrosion and oxidation

  • Ensures stable performance across a wide temperature range

  • Contains only a pour point depressant and antioxidant—no ash or metallic additives

  • Meets multiple global aviation standards including Russian MS-20, French RO-117, and OM-270

Global Product Code: 001A0070

Application:

AeroShell Oil 100 is a straight mineral lubricating oil developed for use in four-stroke cycle (four-cycle) aircraft piston engines, excluding Porsche types. This non-dispersant oil is primarily intended for the break-in period of new or recently overhauled aviation engines, where dispersant additives are not recommended. It can also be used in aircraft radial engines that require straight mineral oil without detergents.

Performance Features & Benefits:

  • Pure Mineral Formula: Contains no dispersant or metallic additives—only a small amount of pour point depressant and antioxidant—ensuring compatibility with engine break-in procedures.
  • Thermal and Oxidation Stability: Excellent resistance to high-temperature oxidation and breakdown.
  • Corrosion and Wear Protection: Provides strong protection against rust, copper corrosion, and metal wear.
  • Low Ash Content: Reduces the risk of combustion chamber deposits and keeps engines cleaner.
  • Approved by Global Standards: Meets SAE J1966 (replacing MIL-L-6082E), Russian MS-20, French RO-117, and OM-270 standards.

Main Application Areas:

  • Four-stroke cycle certified aircraft piston engines (except Porsche)
  • Aircraft radial engines requiring non-dispersant oils
  • Break-in procedures for newly built or overhauled engines (consult OEM/overhaul facility)

Specifications & Approvals:

  • SAE J1966 Grade 50 (replaces MIL-L-6082E)
  • Russian Specification: MS-20
  • French Specification: RO-117
  • Joint Service Designation: OM-270
