Application:

AeroShell Fluid S.8350 is a mineral-based SAE 90 extreme pressure (EP) gearbox oil formulated for use in helicopter rotor gears, drive-shafts, and pitch control mechanisms. It is specifically designed for applications requiring a high-viscosity lubricant to withstand slow speeds and heavy loads. AeroShell Fluid S.8350 is approved for use in several Westland helicopter gearboxes and must not be used in engines.

Performance Features & Benefits:

  • Extreme Pressure Protection: EP additives protect heavily loaded gear systems.
  • Foam Control: Passes all foaming tendency tests across operational sequences.
  • High Viscosity Stability: Maintains gear protection under demanding load and thermal conditions.
  • Temperature Performance: Effective down to –31°C with a high flash point of 217°C.

Main Application Areas:

  • Helicopter rotor gearboxes
  • Drive-shafts
  • Pitch control mechanisms
  • High-load, low-speed aviation gear systems

Specifications & Approvals:
