Application:

Shell Omala S2 G 460 is designed for heavy-duty enclosed industrial gear systems, utilizing a sulphur-phosphorus additive system to provide superior extreme-pressure performance. It ensures excellent gear and bearing protection, extended service life, and reliable water demulsibility. Formerly known as Shell Omala Oils.

Performance Features & Benefits:

• Extended Oil Life: Resists oxidation and thermal degradation, even at operating temperatures up to 100 °C, enabling longer maintenance intervals.
• Wear & Corrosion Protection: Excellent load-carrying capacity protects steel components from wear and rust—even with water or particulate contamination.
• Water Separation: High demulsibility ensures easy drainage of water, protecting gears from corrosion and surface fatigue.

Main Application Areas:

• Enclosed spur and helical industrial gear systems
• Circulating and splash-lubricated bearings and components
• Not recommended for worm drives or systems with filtration <10 microns
